New Delhi: Tom Cruise’s highly anticipated return as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible– Dead Reckoning Part One has already generated a buzz of positive reviews. As the promotional rounds for the film kick off, co-star Pom Klementieff recently opened up about her experience working with Cruise, revealing an interesting behind-the-scenes moment during a fight scene.
Joining Cruise in the star-studded cast, which includes Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Ferguson, and newcomer Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff portrays Paris, a formidable hench-woman serving as one of the antagonists in the action thriller.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Klementieff shared a unique request she had for Cruise. Recounting the incident, she revealed, “I kept telling him to just kick me here,” as she gestured towards her stomach. “I was squeezing abs. [I said], ‘You can just go for it.’ He was like ‘No, no, no, no, no.’ I was like, ‘But it’s going to help me!’ But he wouldn’t do it.”
Pom Klementieff further delved into her character, describing her as a “very, very, very much a chaotic element in the story.” She emphasized that regardless of her character’s placement in the background, viewers will be captivated by her every move, highlighting her destructive nature and lethal skills, while also revealing a sense of loneliness.
Mission: Impossible– Dead Reckoning Part One had its world premiere in Rome, where the star-studded cast attended a packed gala screening at the Auditorium della Conciliazione. The film serves as a direct sequel to the 2018 release Fallout, where Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and his team of secret agents saved the world from a nuclear catastrophe.
Directed in two parts, the first installment of Dead Reckoning is set to hit cinemas on July 12, while the second part is scheduled for release on June 28, 2024. The film promises to captivate audiences with its relentless action and gripping storyline, showcasing Tom Cruise’s unparalleled dedication to his iconic character, Ethan Hunt.
