New Delhi: Shagufta Ali, a veteran TV actress who has worked in some of the popular TV shows including ‘Saans’ and ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, recently revealed that she has been going through a financial crisis for the last four years and is in immediate need of some work and financial help.
Talking to a news daily at her residence, the actress revealed that health is taking its toll on her and she’s been struggling to make the ends meet for quite some time now. The actor was diagnosed with breast cancer 20 years back and is currently suffering from diabetes and other health-related issues.
Shagufta has been a member of the Cine and TV Artistes’s Association (CINTAA). She said that she knew that they offer a certain amount which would have been insufficient for her, which is why she did not take their help when CINTAA reaches out to her to offer help. She added that the amount was quite negligible and was insufficient for her.
Her revelations were might take many by surprise as the actor mentioned that she contacted Sonu Sood seeking some financial help from him who is an actor himself, only to learn that they do not provide financial help but only services. However, actor Sonu Sood was highly applauded by the Indian celebs and general public for providing a lot of help for the migrant workers in different cities during the lockdown.
