New Delhi: ‘Veetla Vishesham’, the Tamil remake of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Badhaai Ho’, is all set to release on an OTT platform. The film was released in theatres on June 17. This Tamil comedy-drama was well received by the audience.
The plot follows a middle-aged couple who gets pregnant and the circumstances cause problems for their two grown-up sons. The film is directed by RJ Balaji and N.J. Saravanan. Balaji and Saravanan have also directed ‘Mookuthi Amman’ in 2020 together. RJ Balaji also plays the lead in the film and along with him the cast also features Sathyaraj, who is known for playing Kattappa in ‘Bahubali’. Other lead actors include ‘Soorarai Pottru’ stars Urvashi and Aparna Balamurli, and late K.P.A.C Lalitha.
The cinematography is done by Karthik Muthukumar, who is known for his work in ‘Sshhh’ and ‘Maara’. The music in the film is composed by Girishh Gopalakrishnan, who in 2012 composed the popular soundtrack ‘Vanakkam Vazhavaikkum Chennai’ which became Chennai’s anthem for 2012. Girishh has also composed music for Balaji and Saravanan’s ‘Mookuthi Amman’.
When and where to watch?
The film will release on Zee5 on July 15. Zee Studios has been one of the associate producers in the film, hence the film is getting a digital release on its own OTT platform. The film will be available in only one language, which is, Tamil.
The film is produced by popular Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor in association with Zee Studios, Bayview Projects LLP and Romeo Pictures. Although it is a remake of ‘Badhaai Ho’, the film has a much more comical approach to the subject.
