New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor and Politician has been Hospitalised in Kolkata after complaining of chest pain. The actor felt uneasy after he was coming back from a shoot. He was immediately rushed to a hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. The actor’s health update was shared by his son. The legendary actor was also named as a recipient of the Padma Bhushan Awardees 2024. His fans took to Social media to wish him a speedy recovery after the news of his illness was circulated across media houses and internet.

The veteran actor is also known as ‘Mithun Da’ in the film industry. He began his career with Mrinal Sen directed film ‘Mrigayaa’ for which he received the best actor award. He also worked in many films like Agneepath, Disco Dancer, Pyar Jhukta Nahin. These are some of his popular films. The actor’s son expressed his happiness after his father received Padma Bhushan and said, “I have no words to describe this feeling of euphoria and joy. It is such an honour to feel this moment of pride. Dad is truly deserving of this award and I am so grateful to our government and institutions for honouring dad with this prestigious award. I am so grateful and full of joy right now. Touchwood.”
The actor joined BJP in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
