‘Forced to pay Rs 6.5 lakh for film certification’: Actor Vishal’s explosive charge against CBFC (Video)

Uploading a video about the same on his Twitter (X) handle, Vishal narrated the whole story and described how they officially left him with no choice other than paying them the demanded bribe to get his film screening and a U/A certificate.

New Delhi: South Indian superstar Vishal, who recently made his big screen comeback with Sci-fi actioner Mark Anthony, has recently made shocking allegations against the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) while accusing them of corruption.

As per the actor’s allegations, the Central Board’s officials forced him to pay them Rs 6.5 Lakhs in order to approve his movie (Mark Anthony) for its release in North India.

Uploading a video about the same on his Twitter now (X) handle, Vishal narrated the whole story and described how they officially left him with no choice other than paying them the demanded bribe to get his film screening and a U/A certificate.

In his video, the actor also made an appeal to Maharashtra’s Cheif Minister Eknath Shinde and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the matter and take action against the wrongdoers saying “Bringing this to the notice of Cheif Minister of Maharashtra and PM Modi. I am doing it not for me but for the sake of future producers. If this is the case in government offices I request the higher official to take action” If the situation for me (actor) is so bad then I wonder how bad it must be for commoners.”

“This is corruption. I am recording this to tell the entire world what is happening in the CBFC” He added further. In the video’s caption, Vishal also attached the details of the transaction along with the names of the account holders.

The caption of his video read, “Corruption being shown on the silver screen is fine. But not in real life. Can’t digest it. Especially in govt offices. Even worse happening in the CBFC Mumbai office. Had to pay 6.5 lacs for my film MarkAntonyHindi version. 2 transactions. 3 Lakhs for screening and 3.5 Lakhs for certificate. Never faced this situation in my career. Had no option but to pay the concerned mediator Menaga coz too much was at stake since the movie was released today. Bringing this to the notice of Hon Chief Minister of Maharashtra and my Hon PM Narendra Modiji. Doing this is not for me but for future producers. NOT HAPPENING. My hard-earned money gone for corruption ??? No way. Evidence down for all to hear. Hope truth prevails as always. GB”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vishal’s latest Science fiction Mark Anthony, which arrived in the theatres on 15 September, received a positive response from the fans and is minting good money at the Box office. In its 12-day-long BO journey, the Adhik Ravichandran directorial has so far amassed a sum of Rs 65 crore.

Besides Vishal, the film also stars talented actors including J Suneel, Abhinaya, Selvaraghavan, Ritu, Kingsley, and Y.G. Mahendran in pivotal roles. in the lead roles. It is produced by S Vinodkumar on a budget of Rs 30 crore under the banner of Mini Studios.
