The web series is also expected to talk about the abrogation of Article 370 from the Indian constitution and the consequences that followed.

New Delhi: Following the massive success of The Kashmir Files filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri recently announced his upcoming web series sequel of the movie titled ‘The Kashmir files unreported’.

Speaking about the same, the director has claimed that the upcoming web series will be even more heartwrenching, enlightening, and eye-opening than his previously released super hit movie The Kashmir Files.

Today, the makers of the 7-episode-long web series have also unveiled its intriguing trailer.

The Kashmir files unreported trailer out

In the movie’s 2 minutes long hard-hitting trailer, we see many of the actual victims and survivors of the 1990s Kashmir genocide who are seen getting emotional while speaking about the horrors they were subjected to. “Kashmiris used to die like roadside animals,” says one of the genocide survivors while telling her story.

The trailer also features director Vivek Agnihotri who is heard saying, “Something like this has never happened in the history of India.”

By the time trailer ends, one gets an idea that the upcoming web series will showcase the events that led to the large-scale target killing of Kashmiri Pundits in the valley which was followed by their mass exodus from the state in order to save their life. The web series is also expected to talk about the abrogation of Article 370 from the Indian constitution and the consequences that followed.

Vivek Agnihotri speaks about the movie

Recently,  Vivek also opened up on his movie and talked about the genocide of Kashmiri Pandis saying that the targeted killing of Hindus in Kashmir valley is the biggest tragedy of modern ages.

“The genocide of Kashmir is a blot not only on India but on humanity. It was very important for us to tell this story honestly. So far, in all the movies, literature and in media, what has been reported is contemporary. After 32 years when we made The Kashmir Files based on 4 years of extensive research, it opened people’s eyes. But there were polarizing views on the film – some felt that the movie portrayed only 10% of the reality and some felt that The Kashmir Files was a propaganda film.” he added.

He further continued and said, “It was important for us to open all the research and interviews we did in its purest and rawest form for people to understand that the truth is difficult to handle. I can guarantee that ‘The Kashmir Files Unreported’ will shatter your heart but the intention is so that we learn from history, and we develop a temperament of zero tolerance for terrorism and we stand up for humanity and our own people”.

Vivek’s wife on hearing out Kashmir genocide victims

Vivek’s wife Pallavi Joshi, who is also the co-producer of The Kashmir files gave her take regarding the issue saying that it was hard for her to listen about the atrocities and horrors the victims of Kashmir’s infamous genocide shared with her and her team.

Joshi even went on to say that she felt really small after realizing how the stories of Kashmiri Pundit’s misery were intentionally kept hidden from the public by both the government and the media.

The series is now all set for its exclusive release on the OTT platform ZEE 5.
