New Delhi: The 81st Golden Globes kicked off with a star studded ceremony attended by the most talented faces of Hollywood. The award night concluded with honoring the most successful and winning faces of cinema. Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ won 5 awards. The biopic film scored wins for Best Actor – Drama Cillian Murphy, Best Director Christopher Nolan, Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr, Best Original Score for Ludwig Goransson and Best Picture. The award ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Who is Jo Koy, the host of the Golden Globes?
Joseph Glenn Herbert also known as Jo Koy was born in Tacoma, Washington. He began his career in 1994 at a club in Las Vegas. He did his first television appearance on BET’s comic view. The man was noticed and made headlines after he was annouced as the host of the 81st Golden globe awards. Apart from this, his monologue was also criticized by many viewers and critics. A lot of people called his jokes as ‘painful’, ‘cringeworthy’ and ‘distasteful’. According to reports, he began by saying, ”You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. You’re kidding me, right? Slow down, I wrote some of these and they are the ones you are laughing at.”
He also commented on some of the films that were nominated for the Golden Globes, which includes ‘The Color Purple’ , he described the film as “what happens to your butt when you take Ozempic.”
He also took a dig at the film ‘Barbie’, to which he said, “plastic doll with big b*obies.”
