With Ms. Marvel, we finally got our first glimpse of Farhan Akhtar in the MCU

New Delhi: Fans have been eager to see what Farhan Akhtar has to offer ever since it was revealed that the actor would be appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of the Disney+ miniseries Ms. Marvel. Details about his role were strictly kept under wraps for the longest time. However, today Disney+ finally unveiled a teaser for Akhtar’s Waleed, an enigmatic mentor-like figure who is more familiar with Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan’s ancestry than she is.

As Kamala sets out on her mission to save the world, the mystic in a kurta gives her some much-needed advice: “What you seek is seeking you.” That might imply that he is here to explain Kamala’s newly discovered cosmic abilities. Even though the precise reason for Waleed’s presence is still unknown, it appears that we will soon find out.

One of the many South Asian actors scheduled to appear on the MCU programme is Akhtar. Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat will appear in Ms Marvel in significant cameos, reportedly playing Kamala Khan’s great-grandparents. In a recurring role, it also features Indian actor Mohan Kapur.

In addition, the miniseries makes several allusions to South Asian popular culture and uses music composed by Pakistani and Indian musicians as its background score.
