269 girl students get free bicycles in mega program organised by Rotary Club of Delhi Ananta

The Rotary Club of Delhi Ananta organised a mega bicycle distribution program on Saturday, aimed at empowering the girl students and giving them ‘wings’ to follow their dreams.

New Delhi: The Rotary Club of Delhi Ananta organised a mega bicycle distribution program on Saturday, aimed at empowering the girl students and giving them ‘wings’ to follow their dreams.

As part of the ambitious project, the Rotary Club awarded bicycles to more than 250 girl students belonging to downtrodden & deprived class. The program was organised at Noida’s Bhawani Shankar Inter College. Noida District Magistrate (DM) Suhas Lalinakere was the guest of honour for the occasion.

Eminent guests who attended the program included Rotary 3012 District Governor Ashok Agarwal, Rotary Club of Delhi Ananta president Amitanshu Satpaty, Cycle project chairman Rakesh Jain, Secretary Kapil Jain & Sanjay Kaushik.

At the event, many young girl students were awarded free bicycles who have to toil hard daily for commuting to schools & tuition centres. All the distinct personalities applauded & cheered for the girl students.

The Rotary Club has drawn out an ambitious program to distribute at least 2,200 bicycles to girl students from poor & underprivileged section.

On the occasion, Noida DM Suhas Lalinakere lauded the students and urged them to keep enhancing their skills and brace themselves for challenges & opportunities that lie in paths ahead. He exhorted the young students to broaden their horizon of knowledge and keep oneself ready & prepared for future roles.

Cycle distribution project chairman Rakesh Jain, in conversation with Newsroompost said that Rotary 3012 was an ambitious & flagship project which aims to provide bicycles to girl students free of cost. Under the program, those girl child are being provided with free bicycles who have to travel long distances for attending schools.

Rotary 2012 District Governor Ashok Agarwal said that children are future of the country and it’s our duty to enable & empower them for building a better country. He said that the project was envisaged with an aim to cater to the girl students particularly in regions like Sonepat, East & North Delhi, Noida-Greater Noida, Ghaziabad & Hapur.

As part of the project, about 2,200 girl students will be handed over free bicycles living in far-off & remote areas so that they could overcome challenges & commute long distances for schooling.

Girl students, who received the bicycles were full of praise for the unique initiative. They thanked the organisers copiously and said that this will go a long way in removing their routine hassles & help them concentrate more on their studies.
