New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh dreaded gangster Vikas Dubey, who plotted and executed cold-blooded murder of 8 policemen in Kanpur encounter, was on the run for 6 days. Today, the gangster was nabbed in Ujjjain by Madhya Pradesh cops. Dubey was arrested from Mahakal where he was trying to enter the premises for worship.
Trail of events, how the gangster gave the cops a slip
Uttar Pradesh received a lot of flak for failing to trace the butcherer’s whereabouts for 5 days despite the mass murder of policemen. Rather, Chaubeypur SHO and SI were found to be hand-in-gloves with the don, who helped him plan the murder of cops, as they raided his residence to arrest him.
Fled from Kanpur to Faridabad
After that fateful night, gangster Vikas Dubey and his aides fled from the shootout site and remained untraced for 2 days. UP police released photos of his henchmen and also announced bounty on his head, for information regarding his arrest.
Despite UP police mobilizing its high-level team, the gangster managed to give them a slip and fled from the state.
Spotted at Faridabad hotel, fled before police raid
Huge uproar broke out when the gangster was captured in CCTV camera, roaming on the streets in Faridabad. His footage of purchasing sweets from a Faridabad shop went viral.
He was seen taking an auto and going to his next destination without any hindrance.
Dubey stayed in a hotel in Faridabad. When information reached Haryana police and a team swung into action to arrest him, the gangster managed to flee the hotel before the police raid.
6 days after, nabbed in MP’s Ujjain
After criss-crossing North India for 6 days, the gangster’s escape ended in Ujjain. Police finally took him in custody from Mahakal in Ujjain.

Guard reveals how gangster was identified, caught
Mahakal temple guard revealed that the gangster was standing in queue this morning and was trying to enter temple for worshipping the lord. As soon as people found out that he was the wanted criminal, calls were made to police. It was only after police team reached the premises, they held him by collar.
