7 Children with their mother crashed father’s fifth wedding in Sitapur, VIDEO of scuffle surfaces

New Delhi: A shocking incident occurred in the Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, wherein a 55 years old  Muslim man Shafi Ahmad was trying to marry for the fifth time despite having 4 wives and 7 children with them.

On Tuesday night, his second wife along with their seven children reached the venue and jeopardized the Nikah when they received information about the man’s wedding from a relative.

A complaint has been logged in the Kotwali police station against Ahmad in the matter.

Here’s what happened

The wedding ceremony soon turned into a dispute when the children introduced themselves to the bride’s family. After knowing that the man was already married to 4 other women and shared seven children with them, the bride-to-be skedaddled from the venue and the Ahmad was beaten up by his children and wife.

The scuffle continued for at least an hour until the local police arrived at the venue.

For the not known, Islam allows Polygamy and sanctions to have up to four wives without specific rules and regulations.

As per media reports, Ahmad wished to marry secretly and hence he had sent all his wives to the Haj pilgrimage and only his second wife was present at home with the children.

His children told that their father stopped giving them money for their monthly expenses and was possibly going to give possession of his property to the woman he was going to marry.

A police official said, “The groom’s children informed the police about the incident. Thereafter, we reached the spot and arrested the accused”.
