
New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha was on Friday suspended from the Rajya Sabha over signature forgery allegations.
Raghav’s suspension comes from the House comes on the last day of Monsoon Session of Parliament. The AAP lawmaker may stay suspended, beyond the current session.
Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhad announced Raghav’s suspension from the House, saying “I find it expedient to refer the matter to the Committee of Privileges…suspension order dated 24th July 2023 may continue beyond the current session till the Council has the benefit of recommendation by the Committee of Privileges.”

Action on AAP MP comes after 4 Rajya Sabha MPs claimed on Monday that their signatures were ‘forged’ on a motion, put forward by Chadha for proposed Select Committee on the Delhi Services Bill.
MPs namely Sasmit Patra, S Phangnon Konyak, M Thambidurai, and Narhari Amin had said that Chadha had added their names without their consent.
