New Delhi: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) paid tribute and offered their sincere condolences to the kin of Nikita Tomar, the brave-heart of Ballabgarh who was murdered while resisting her abduction.
The students demanded speedy justice for the departed soul as well sought an enquiry into the allegation of attempted forced conversion of Nikita Tomar prior to her murder. The students also called for instituting strict deterrent mechanisms to prevent the recurrence of similar episodes in times to come.
Sidharth Yadav, State Secretary, ABVP Delhi, said, “The murder of Nikita Tomar in broad daylight right outside her college in Haryana’s Ballabgarh by a religious fanatic is extremely unfortunate and shocking. The accused must be brought to justice expeditiously and guaranteed mechanisms must be instituted to prevent a repeat of such an event in future.”
Akshit Dahiya, President, DUSU, said, “While the areas in the vicinity of educational institutions need special attention, the state machinery must take additional and timely steps for ensuring across the board women’s safety. The Ballabgarh murder has shocked the conscience of the nation. The accused must be tried and hanged as soon as possible.”
