After a Delhi man died from choking on momos, the AIIMS has issued an advisory

New Delhi: After recording the first case of a man dying after choking on momos, medical specialists at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi issued an advisory.

According to the experts, momos should be swallowed with caution because of their smooth and slippery surfaces, which can cause choking if not chewed properly.

A 50-year-old man died recently after choking on momos. Following the medical investigation, it was discovered that a momo had become lodged in his windpipe, resulting in his death.

The cause of death was determined to be neurogenic cardiac arrest caused by momo choking.

Following that, AIIMS Delhi issued a warning, stating that they must be chewed thoroughly before swallowing.

For the uninitiated, momos are one of Asia’s most well-known street foods. They are made with a spoonful of stuffing, wrapped in dough. They are typically steamed, but they can also be fried or steam-fried.
