New Delhi: Security has been tightened at the Singhu border and other border areas of the city after the agitating farmers ran riot and unleashed violence at several places including Red Fort and ITO in the city. A large number of security forces has been deployed at the protest sites.

At the Red Fort, chaos reigned for hours as the protesting farmers laid siege to the iconic Mughal-era monument and hurled the Nishan Sahib flag atop a minaret.

A day later, it comes to light that they not only hoisted their flag but also vandalised properties inside the complex.

Meanwhile, Union Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel visited the Red Fort to take stock of the damage caused by farmers who stormed the monument. The minister has sought a report on the incident.

“I do not want to say anything on the issue yet. I have sought a report, let it come,” Patel said.
