
New Delhi: Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, after meeting PM Narendra Modi and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Delhi. S Jaishankar tweeted and informed about their meeting. They talked about India’s digital transformation and global strategic developments.
Sundar Pichai met PM Modi on December 19 where they discussed the technological change in the country and India’s G20 presidency. On December 20, extending the diplomatic meets, Pichai met S Jaishankar in Delhi. Tweeting about the meeting, Jaishankar wrote that he felt great to meet Google CEO Sundar Pichai today afternoon.

Pichai is visiting India as part of the ‘Google for India’ program for using digital technology and AI (Artificial Intelligence) for supporting small businesses and startups. The firm aims at investing in cybersecurity and education and its application in sectors like agriculture and healthcare. In 2020, Google announced its plans to invest USD 10 billion in India over the next five to seven years to accelerate digital services in the key overseas market. Pichai said that Google is supporting a new, multidisciplinary centre for responsible AI with IIT Madras.
