Ahead of joining BJP, Capt Amarinder Singh meets JP Nadda in Delhi [WATCH]

Singh will join the BJP in presence of Nadda and other senior leaders. Eighter other PLC leaders who had quit congress with him are also expected to join in

New Delhi: Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is set to enter the saffron fold today, i.e. on Monday. Further, the 80-year-old leader will reportedly merge its newly formed Punjab Lok Congress with the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) the same day after a party meeting.

Ahead of entering the saffron party, Singh met with BJP National president JP Nadda in Delhi.

The latter his formed his own political party after quitting Congress in September 2021, followed by his exit as the state chief and being replaced by Charanjit Singh Channi.

Singh will join the BJP in presence of Nadda and other senior leaders. Eighter other PLC leaders who had quit congress with him are also expected to join him.

Earlier, the latter had met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah after returning from London post his spinal surgery.

Punjab BJP leader Harjit Singh Grewal had told the media in July this year that Singh had shared his intention of merging PLA with the BJP before leaving for London. He had further said that Singh will announce the merger soon after his return.
