Akshardham Metro Suicide Case: Young women died of multiple fractures after jumping from edge.

New Delhi: A young girl who had tried to kill herself by jumping off a 40-foot-high elevated platform of New Delhi’s Akshardham Metro station on Thursday (April 14) morning was declared dead at around 8-9 pm the same day.

She succumbed to her injuries at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.

The girl stood on the edge of platform No. 2 at around 7:30 am was noticed by a CISF jawan after which the team was alerted, although the CISF personnel deployed at the metro station tried their best to convince her from taking the extreme step, but the girl did not listen to them and jumped from the edge.

While the CISF were trying to convince her, other  CISF team, DMRC employees and others had arranged a blanket to catch her in case she decides to jump.

When the girl had jumped she was cached on the blanket but she had received multiple fractures on her back and leg due to the fall which resulted to her death.

According to the reports, the  young girl who hailed from Punjab was reported to be deaf and mute and worked in Haryana’s Gurugram, and had quit her job recently.

 

After the incident, several shocking video of the woman standing on the edge, jumping and falling has gone viral on the social media.

Earlier, the CISF in a Tweet had said, she had sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
