Amid farmers stir, Haryana Minister’s stern warning ‘Protesters will have to pay price for damages’

As per report, Anil Vij said the notification of this Act has been issued by the State Government, thus, any such movement in the future will hamper the intention to hurt people or damage public property.

New Delhi: Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said that due to the implementation of the ‘The Haryana Recovery of Damages to Property Act’ in the state, any damage done to hawkers, houses, people’s shops, vehicles, buses and other public property in the face of protest will be recovered from the protestor, reported UNI.

As per report, Anil Vij said the notification of this Act has been issued by the State Government, thus, any such movement in the future will hamper the intention to hurt people or damage public property.

He further said that, though carrying out such movements is a part of democracy but it is incorrect to harm in guise of it.

Farmers have been protesting since November 26 last year against the farm laws passed by the Centre including Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
