New Delhi: Deepika Singh Rajawat, the Kathua rape case lawyer is in news again, for posting a controversial and offensive tweet. Rajawat tweeted a cartoon today, depicting how women are treated during Navaratri and other days. The tweet, utterly in bad taste, sparked anger and outrage on social media, with netizens demanding the arrest of Rajawat.

Rajawat captioned her tweet ‘Irony’ while posting the cartoon which shows a man touching the feet of Goddess during Navratri while the same man attempting sexual assault on women during the rest of the days.

Who is Deepika Rajawat?

Deepika Singh Rajawat shot to limelight when she took up the rape and murder case of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua. During the case, Rajawat had even sought protection as she was purportedly receiving threats for representing the affected family. However, in November 2018, she was removed from the case in the trial court at Pathankot in Punjab on the basis of an application moved by the father of the eight-year-old victim.
