New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been imposed a fine of Rs 25,000/- regarding the controversy over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree.

The penalty on Delhi CM comes after Gujarat High Court set aside 2016 order of Central Information Commission (CIC) which had then asked the Gujarat University to provide information about PM Modi’s MA degree to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

The High Court also said that the PMO need not furnish the post-graduate degree of PM Modi. While imposing a cost of Rs 25,000/-, the court also asked Delhi CM to deposit the money with Gujarat State Legal Services Authority within 4 weeks.

For the unversed, Kejriwal & Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had launched an onslaught on PM Modi over his educational qualification in 2016 and the Chief Minister even wrote a letter to the CIC demanding that details of Prime Minister’s degree be made public.

In his letter to the CIC dated 28/04/2016, Delhi CM had requested the CIC to put the Prime Minister’s educational qualification in public domain so that confusion over could end. His letter to CIC Professor Madabhushanam Sridhar Acharyulu was in response to latter’s query to him over whether his qualification should be made public or not.

Kejriwal’s latest jibe at PM’s qualificaiton

The Delhi Chief Minister again stepped up the offensive and launched a direct attack on PM Modi while speaking in Delhi Assembly, last week.

His onslaught, coming on the heels of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Lok Sabha, was laced with stinging barb as he called him the most corrupt Prime Minister since Independence and also the least educated.

“No Prime Minister has been so less educated since Independence,” the Delhi CM said while AAP legislators thumped desks in approval.
