New Delhi: Central agency Narcotics Control Bureau’s key witness in Aryan Khan drugs case Prabhakar Sail died on Friday. According to Sail’s lawyer Tushar Khandare, Prabhakar Sail died of a heart attack at his residence in Chembur.
Sail had made headlines last year after the arrest of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the drugs-on-cruise case, and had made serious allegations against the then Mumbai Zonal Director of NCB, Sameer Wankhede.
Who was Prabhakar Sail?
Prabhakar Sail, the independent witness in the highly controversial drugs case involving actor Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan, had claimed that he was the personal bodyguard of KP Gosavi, whose selfie with Aryan went viral. He had also accused NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede of extortion in his affidavit.
Prabhakar Sail had filed an affidavit in the NCB court claiming that there was a deal of Rs 25 crore between Shahrukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani, KP Gosavi, and Sam D’Souza to release Aryan Khan arrested in the cruise drugs case and that the deal was finally fixed for Rs 18 crores.
In this, 8 crore rupees were to be given to Sameer Wankhede, who took action in this entire episode. KP Gosavi is the same person whose picture of taking selfie with Aryan Khan went viral on social media.
He had further claimed that out of this deal, 8 crore rupees were to be given to Sameer Wankhede, who was also the investigating officer in the case.
NCB gets 60 days to file a charge sheet
Meanwhile, a special court in Mumbai granted 60 days additional time to NCB on Friday to file a charge sheet in the cruise drugs case.
The NCB had filed an application in the court seeking an additional time of 90 days to file the charge sheet. In the application, NCB had claimed that the investigation of this matter is still going on, so the agency would need extra time to file the charge sheet in the case.
For the unversed, an NCB team had raided an alleged drugs party on the Cordelia Cruise ship on October 2 last year. A total of 20 people were arrested in the case including actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.
