Assam Opinion Poll 2021: NDA set to return to power but UPA to give tough fight

In the Times Now CVoter Opinion Poll, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is seen returning to power amid stiff resistance by Congress-led UPA. NDA is seen winning around 69 seats while UPA is seen in close chase around 55-56 seats.

New Delhi: With election fever reaching its crescendo in Assam, a leading Opinion poll has predicted another term for Sarbanda Sonowal-led BJP government in the state.

Notably, Sarbananda Sonowal-led government is the first Bharatiya Janata Party regime in Assam since Independence.

In the Times Now CVoter Opinion Poll, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is seen returning to power amid stiff resistance by Congress-led UPA. NDA is seen winning around 69 seats while UPA is seen in close chase around 55-56 seats.

The projected range of Assembly seats is 65-73 for NDA, 52-60 for the UPA and 0-4 seats for others in Assam.

In the Opinion poll, different questions were asked from the electorate like

1) Will Congress be able to consolidate Muslim vote bank – to this, 39.7% respondents said yes while 41.6% said yes.

2) On being asked about Amit Shah’s statement that each vote for AIUDF is a vote for illegal immigration – 44.4% respondents nodded in Yes while 38.7% said No.

3) When respondents were asked whether BJP’s ‘silence’ on CAA will help it – 44.6% said party’s silence on the issue will increase its winning chances while 25.2% said that the saffron party’s silence on this issue will hurt its prospects while 15.8% respondents said it will have no impact on the outcome.

4) Whether CAA was a threat to local Assamese culture – 50.9% people said Yes while 31% said No. while 17.9% were inconclusive.
