At Diwali Milan ceremony, PM Modi shares light moment with journalists, gets selfies clicked

Scores of scribes at the Diwali Milan event also looked in joyous & celebratory mood over such close & informal meet with the Prime Minister.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took time out to meet and greet scores of Television & Print journalists at the BJP headquarters, who gathered at the party’s central office, on invitation for Diwali Milan ceremony.

PM Modi extended Diwali greetings to all the journalists and party leaders attending the event and held a close & intimate interaction with many of them.

Prime Minister’s inimitable style of addressing the gathering was quite evident from his personal outreach to many journalists and acknowledging the presence of others by addressing them by names. Many scribes also took to their X handle and shared their ‘selfie moment’ with the Prime Minister.

The Diwali Milan program at BJP’s central office also saw presence of Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda.

Notably, this is not first such event. Almost every year, PM Modi makes it a point to extend Diwali greetings to press & his partymen by hosting a function at party headquarters. This however got disrupted for some years due to Covid outbreak.

Anil Baluni’s, BJP’s national chief spokesperson took to X (formerly called Twitter) to share how Prime Minister took time out from his busy schedule for an intimate interaction with the journalists.

Mr Baluni said that PM Modi’s direct & close interaction with couple of journalists left many surprised. He said that Prime Minister addressed more than 125 journalists by name, which shows how he remains connected with the ‘pulse of nation’.

PM Modi asked a TV journalist, ‘why she made a job switch’ while enquired from other, ‘whether he was on leave for some days’.

PM Modi also asked a reputed print journalist, ‘whether his son has come back to India or not’.

He said that many scribes were overwhelmed & touched with such gesture from the Prime Minister.

Scores of scribes at the Diwali Milan event also looked in joyous & celebratory mood over such close & informal meet with the Prime Minister. Many of them including TV anchors got selfies clicked with PM.

PM Modi was seen sharing laughter with couple of them while also ensuring to make everyone comfortable.

A couple of TV journalists also took to X to share about the memorable moment at Diwali Milan event.

TV anchor Shobhna Yadav, who recently switched from ABP News to Zee News, tweeted a picture of her with PM and said that she felt honoured that her work was being acknowledged. Another TV journalist Rubika Liyaqat shared selfie picture with PM and captioned it, “a moment to remember & relish.”


Upendra Rai, Bharat Express News Network MD said that he was delighted to meet Prime Minister at Diwali Milan event and said that PM’s unwavering commitment and dedication towards nation’s development remains unmatched.
