“Being handsome, speaking good English isn’t everything”: Gehlot’s jibe at Sachin Pilot

“Speaking good English or giving a byte is not everything. What do you have in your heart, what commitment do you have, this all is seen,” Gehlot said while speaking to reporters.

New Delhi: The power equation in Rajasthan may have temporarily settled with Congress high command backing CM Ashok Gehlot but the war of words is far from over.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot today took a jibe at his former Deputy CM, saying that speaking good English or being handsome isn’t everything.

“Speaking good English or giving a byte is not everything. What do you have in your heart, what commitment do you have, this all is seen,” Gehlot said while speaking to reporters.

Further taking swipe at the young generation of leaders, Gehlot said, “I have been in politics for 40 years, we love the new generation, the future will be theirs,” said Gehlot. “This new generation, they have become central ministers and state presidents; if they had gone through what we did in our time, they would have understood.”

‘Pilot plotting to topple govt, engaged in horse-trading’

Gehlot went a step further and put a direct blame on Pilot, accusing him of plotting with BJP to pull down his government.

“We have the proof that horse trading was being committed. Money was offered. And who gave the clarification that nothing was happening? Those who were themselves part of the conspiracy are giving clarifications,” he said.

“Our deputy chief minister and PCC president himself was doing the deal and was giving statements that no horse trading was taking place. What clarifications are you giving when you yourself were involved in it,” Gehlot added.
