At Bharat Jodo Yatra, Digvijaya demands proof of surgical strike; BJP strikes back

Digivjaya Singh also shared a video, in which he questioned how the terrorists got hold of 300 KG RDX and also pointed fingers at alleged connection between DSP Devendra Singh & the terrorists.

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday raked up 2019 Pulwama terror attack and demanded answers from the Centre over what it did to ‘teach terror groups a lesson’. He raised questions on the surgical strikes post Pulawama attack and said that till there is no proof of the same.

The senior Congress said this while speaking to press in Jammu, where he joined Rahul Gandhi’s 3,500 long Bharat Jodo Yatra.

In the deadly Pulwama attack, at least 40 soldiers were killed after an explosives-laden car rammed into the CRPF vehicle carrying jawans.

“They (Centre) talk about surgical strikes and that they have killed so many of them but there is no proof,” Digvijaya said, thereby earning the ire of BJP & other saffron outfits.

Digivjaya Singh also shared a video, in which he questioned how the terrorists got hold of 300 KG RDX and also pointed fingers at alleged connection between DSP Devendra Singh & the terrorists.

The senior Congress leader was unsparing in his attack on Prime Minister and alleged that the jawans died because Prime Minister declined CRPF director’s request to airlift them from Srinagar to Delhi. About 40 soldiers had died in Pulwama after a terrorist rammed his vehicle into the CRPF bus.

“CRPF director had sought for airlifting of CRPF personnel from Srinagar to Delhi as the area was a sensitive one but PM Modi declined the request. Why did he decline?” Singh said.

It was on Feb 14, 2019, a CRPF convoy became the victim of deadly terror attack and saw its more than 40 soldiers dead on spot after the explosion.

Within 12 days, India launched Balakot airstrike across the border in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and ravaged many of terror camps, operating on their soil.

BJP tears into Digvijaya’s ‘anti-army stand’

BJP leaders took strong objection to Digvijaya Singh’s remark and said that Congress was adept at undermining the supreme sacrifice of our jawans.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said that not just Digvijaya but the shameless party is defending his statement, questioning the capability of our jawans.
