Big blow to Telangana Congress; AICC Spokesperson Dasoju Sravan resigns 

Spokesperson and Senior Congress Leader Dasoju Sravan announced his resignation from the party on Friday.

New Delhi: In a big blow to the Congress party in Telangana, Spokesperson and Senior Congress Leader Dasoju Sravan announced his resignation from the party on Friday. Notably, the latest development came after Komitreddy Rajgopal Reddy a sitting MLA resigned from the grand the old party earlier this week. He soon met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to join the BJP.

Talking to reporters in the state, Sravan said he left all party posts and primary membership of the party. He added that he cannot work under disorder in the party and is ”not ready to live like a slave”.

It is reported that Sravan was not happy with the work of the state unit President of Congress A. Revanth Reddy. He alleged that the party started giving priority to leaders on the basis of caste and money power.

He also raised questions on the leadership of AICC in charge of Manickam Tagore and Strategist Sunil for the current state of affairs in the party.

Notably, Sravan joined the Congress in 2014 as he was impressed with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s work for Telangana and Rahul Gandhi’s speech at Jaipur Chintan Shivir.

The disgruntled leader was approached by senior leaders Kodanda Reddy and Mahesh Kumar Goud to appeal to him to reconsider his decision. However, Sravan made it clear to them that he will not come back.

It is expected that he will begin his new political journey with the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
