Bihar: Man arrested for marrying 12 girls, including 8 minors, pushing them into prostitution 

A 32-year-old man was arrested by Purnia police of Bihar police for marrying 12 girls, including minors.

New Delhi: A 32-year-old man was arrested by Purnia police of Bihar police for marrying 12 girls, including eight minors. Police also said the man pushed them into prostitution after the marriage.

The man has been identified as Mohammad Shamshad alias Manohar who is a resident of Anarkali village of Kishanganj district that comes under the jurisdiction of the Kochadhaman Police Station.

Crime

First case registered in 2015

Reportedly, Shamshad was preparing for his higher studies. He was arrested from Koidangi village by the Angarh Police for marrying minor girls to sell them off.

According to the Angarh SHO Prithvi Paswan, the first FIR was lodged against the accused in December 2015. Ever since, he was avoiding his arrest.

In 2015, a resident of Bijwar village of Saharsa district, Mohammad Haseeb filed a complaint against Shamshad in the Angarh police station.

Crime

In the complaint, he stated that the accused kidnapped his minor daughter on the promise of marrying her in November 2015.
