BJP fumes over Telangana CM’s snub, refused to receive PM Modi in Hyderabad

It was reportedly for the third time in last few months that the Telangana CM broke the protocol and refused to receive the Prime Minister at the airport.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday trained guns at Telangana CM Chandrashekar Rao as well as his party Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for not receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport.

Referring to KCR’s no-show at the airport, BJP national spokesperson Tom Vadakkan said that this shows insecurity of party against growing saffron clout. Speaking to press, he dubbed the Chief Minister as a ‘disturbed and desperate’ person and also said that the party was expanding in South India and will only go on entrenching its roots.

It was reportedly for the third time in last few months that the Telangana CM broke the protocol and refused to receive the Prime Minister at the airport.

Chandrashekar Rao, Telangana CM

This time, CM Rao deputed Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav to receive the Prime Minister on his arrival at the Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad on Saturday.

At earlier 2 instances, the Chief Minister decided against welcoming the Prime Minister at the airport, apparently over the growing differences between TRS and BJP.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the TRS supremo is set to roll out red carpet for the Opposition’s Presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha at the airport and then a buffet lunch in his honour. Yashwant is a veteran leader, who jumped from BJP to Opposition and was selected for taking on NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu.
