New Delhi: Vijay Kumar Singh, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was killed in barbaric & brutal lathi-charge by Bihar police, senior party leader Sushil Kumar Modi tweeted on Thursday.
Sushil Modi informed that Vijay Singh, party’s Jehanabad district GS was arrested by the Bihar police, who joined massive protest against the state government, died due to police excesses.

The BJP leader reportedly died after being lathi-charged by police at Dakbangla Chauraha chowk in the capital. He was taken to hospital for injuries but was declared brought dead by the doctors.
The Bihar police took recourse to lathi-charge after scores of protesters mounted protest against the state government over posting of teachers.
Scores of BJP workers were part of the protests while a ‘Vidhan Sabha March’ was undertaken by the protestors.

In a bid to disperse the crowd, the cops used water cannons and also shot multiple tear gas while others baton-charge the crowd.
Following the incident, BJP has called the barbaric behavior of Bihar cops as an assault on democracy. Party’s national president JP Nadda said,
“The lathi-charge on BJP workers in Patna is a result of the failure and incompetence of the state government.”
Meanwhile, Bihar Education Department swung into action and announced an umbrella ban on leaves by education department officials for the next week.
The leaves of district education officers, district program officers and other officials have been cancelled, the order said.
