New Delhi: DNV SenthilKumar, a Lok Sabha MP from Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) stoked a massive controversy on Tuesday, with his abominable & objectionable remarks in the House. He dubbed the Hindi heartland states as ‘Gau Mutra states’ and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is winning elections only in these states.
DMK MP’s controversial remark comes in the backdrop of BJP’s resounding victory in Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan & Chhattisgarh.
Speaking on the debate on Jammu & Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, he said,”people of this country should think that the power of the BJP is winning elections mainly in the heartland states of Hindi and what we generally call as the ‘Gaumutra state.”

“BJP cannot come to South India. See all the results that happened in Kerala, Tamil Nadu Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, we are very strong there,” he added.
BJP rips into DMK MP for slur against Hindu belief
SenthilKumar’s insulting remarks has stirred up a hornet’s nest and he is getting criticized from all quarters.
A couple of BJP leaders took to their X timeline and hit out at him for baseless & insulting slur against Hindu beliefs and said that DMK’s arrogance will be taught a lesson by public in next elections.
Taking strong exception to DMK MP, Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai said that the level of discourse of the ruling party in Tamil Nadu has touched the floor and its arrogance will become reason for its downfall.
“After calling our North Indian friends Pani Puri sellers, toilet constructors, etc., I.N.D.I. Alliance DMK MP, makes Gaumutra Jibes,” K Annamalai posted on X.
Hitting out at the DMK, Union minister Meenakshi Lekhi said,””I think that is a disrespect of the ‘Sanatani’ tradition. DMK will soon get to know the benefits of ‘Gaumutra’. They are very well aware that this will not be tolerated by the people of the country.”

Khusbhu Sundar, BJP spokesperson condemned DMK MP’s statement vehemently and tored into him for divisive statement. She also attacked the Congress and asked whether it will call out/protest against racist attack by DMK MP.

DMK MP faces heat on social media
Many netizens also found the DMK MP’s statement appalling while some dug out old videos where the lawmaker could be heard again addressing North India as ‘Gau Mutra’ states.

Many others countered his statement by reminding him that BJP ruled the neighbouring state Karnataka a couple of times and got good mandate in recently concluded Telangana elections.
For the unversed, just days ago, DMK minister and Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin’s son Udaynidhi Stalin outraged the Hindu sentiments by as he equated Sanatan Dharma with dengue & malaria and called for its eradication.
