Blaze in Delhi’s Gopaldas building, fire tenders rushed to douse fire

Fire was reported from 11th floor of the Gopaldas building, situated on Barakhamba road.

New Delhi: A blaze broke out in Delhi’s one of the tallest skyscrapers Gopaldas building, situated in the Connaught Place area on Thursday.

Fire was reported from 11th floor of the Gopaldas building on Barakhamba road. Initial reports claimed that the fire was huge and it engulfed the whole floor. The reason behind the blaze is not known yet but the rescue work has begun at frantic pace.

A couple of fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

The alarming situation prompted workers on many floors in the building to flee for cover. Reports suggest that the whole building has been evaucuated.

Efforts are underway to douse the fire. Fire tenders are sprinkling water on the eleventh as well as adjoining floor to contain the further spread of fire.

The reason behind the blaze is not known yet. Also, the amout of damages that fire invoked is not known. Officials say that relief & rescue is the priority for now.
