Body of Dalit labourer Lakhbir Singh, lynched at farmers’ protest site burnt in midnight by pouring diesel by Punjab Police; Twitterati react

The deceased, about 35-36 years old, who used to work as a labourer, has no criminal record or affiliation with any political party, informed the police. 

New Delhi: After horrific murder of the dalit man, identified as Lakhbir Singh at the farmers protest site in Singhu border, now his body was burnt by pouring diesel by the Punjab Police in Cheema village of Punjab. His body was cremated hurriedly, in torch light.

It is said that Nihang’s objected to his family’s proposal do to his Antim Ardas first. 

Also, no Sikh priest was present to perform ‘Ardas’, nor anyone from his village Cheema Kalan attended the cremation, police sources said.

According to reports, he died of excessive bleeding due to several deep wounds, and had 22 injury marks on his body.
