New Delhi: The official website of Shiv Sena-shivsena.in, has been deleted and the Twitter profile name has been changed to ShivSena – Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray. Also, after the Twitter handle was also changed, the account lost its ‘blue tick’ (Which means it has lost its blue verification badge).

The party’s media handle @ShivsenaComms also lost its verified blue tick and now it has been renamed as @ShivsenaUBTComm.

Also, on Wikipedia, Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray is referred to as the ‘erstwhile leader forming Shiv Sena (UBT)’.

On Friday, Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde changed his display picture on Twitter with Shiv Sena’s ‘bow and arrow’ symbol.

This comes at a time when the Election Commission of India (ECI) allotted the party name “Shiv Sena” and the symbol “Bow and Arrow” to the faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday said that the symbol of ‘bow and arrow’ has been stolen.

He also alleged that people from higher authorities are “involved” in EC’s decision.

In a Tweet, Raut said that a transaction of Rs.2,000 crore has been made to “purchase” the Shiv Sena’s name and ‘bow and arrow’ symbol.

Raut also said that the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) will be using Balasaheb Thackeray’s name only for votes.

The battle for the bow and arrow symbol of the party between both the factions of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray) since last year.
