
New Delhi: At the ongoing BRICS Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s alertness during a photo-up session and his gesture towards Indian flag has becoming talking point on social media and also winning many hearts.
During a group photoshoot at the BRICS, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with South African President Cryril Ramaphosa walked together towards the stage but their contrasting behavior towards their national flag got the netizens talking.
In the video that surfaced and circulated widely, PM Modi could be seen lifting the Tricolour from floor while South African counterpart trampling on it.
PM Modi notices the Tricolour, bends down to pick it and then keeps it in his pocket nicely while SA Presidents looks unworried about trampling on his country’s flag.

When SA President watched PM Modi honouring India’s flag, he also picked it up and handed over to a colleague, standing near the podium. He also ‘advised’ Prime Minister for the same but latter indicated that he would rather carry the flag in his pocket.
For the group photoshoot, flags of each country were put on the stage to mark the position of each leader. However, with PM Modi noticing the Tricolour and then promptly picking it, it drove the attention of all leaders.
PM’s South Africa trip
PM Modi is currently on a trip to South Africa to attend the BRICS Summit – a grouping of India, Brazil, China, South Africa & Russia.

Earlier, PM Modi also held bilateral talks with South African President and discussed wide range of issues, with an aim to deepen ties between two nations.
