New Delhi: Amid the raging debate on demolition of illegal encroachments in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri and political fireworks, a Shiv temple was demolished in Alwar district of Rajasthan on Friday.
The 300-year old temple was razed by deploying bulldozers. According to TV report, cutters were used for displacing the God’s idols.
The demolition of Temple in Rajasthan has sparked a major row, as the saffron outfits are calling it an attack on the Hindu Astha.

BJP says that this is what exposes the secularism of Congress party. When action against illegal encroachments occurs, it cries communalism and action against certain community by the saffron party but when Hindu temple is flattened, it sees this as secular action.
Officials have defended the action by claiming that this was done as part of city’s development plan but with current political dynamics, the issue is far from settling down.
It is bound to draw strong political reactions and Gehlot government is expected to receive much flak for it.
