Chaos in Pakistan: Imran enroute Islamabad court, one of convoy’s vehicles overturns; cops enter his Lahore house

The PTI chief left his Lahore residence for appearance in Islamabad court today and while enroute to the capital, one of the convoy’s vehicles turned turtle on the road, sending shockwaves among his supporters as well as political fraternity.

New Delhi: While the sword keeps hanging over former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s arrest, chaos continues unabated in various parts of the embattled nation.

The PTI chief left his Lahore residence for appearance in Islamabad court today and while enroute to the capital, one of the convoy’s vehicles turned turtle on the road, sending shockwaves among his supporters as well as political fraternity. Imran Khan is said to be safe & unhurt in the accident.

Imran Khan is undergoing trial in a case for alleged siphoning of public money for personal use. He has been accused of buying gifts, during PM tenure, from the funds of state depository called Toshakhana and selling them for profit.

Imran’s Lahore house which saw widespread chaos & violence yesterday witnessed huge drama & chaos today, moments after he left the house.

A large of Pakistani policemen entered his residence and searched the premises. Imran’s supporters clashed with the police as they unsuccessfully tried to stall search operation at Imran’s residence.

Imran took to Twitter and called out the despotic governance of Shahbaaz Sharif government. He said that cops barged into his house & are harassing his wife who is alone at home. Police denied his claims and rather said huge cache of arms & explosives were found at his residence.

Protective bail for Imran in 8 cases

While the Pakistan police sought to arrest embattled Imran Khan, the PTI chief got major reprieve as top Pakistani court granted him protective bail in at least 8 cases and also a civil case. A non-bailable warrant against him in a corruption case was also suspended.

Unfazed Imran ups the ante

However, the 70-year-old leader remains unfazed & unperturbed over Sharif govt tightening the noose against him. The cricketer-turned-politician said that he was prepared to go to jail and even in case of him behind bars, a political committee will take charge of his party affairs and continue to lead crusade against mis-governance in Pakistan.
