New Delhi: Superstar Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has got clean chit by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the Cordelia cruise drugs case. Aryan’s name has not been mentioned in the chargesheet filed by the agency in the case.
Aryan’s ‘absolvement’ from the drugs case comes months after the busting of drug racket by NCB sleuths hogged national attention.
The son of Bollywood superstar stayed in jail for almost a month after getting arrested in connection with the Mumbai drugs case.
The breather for Aryan came after he spent 26 days in custody. Despite top lawyers arguing for his bail, several court hearings and lots of drama, the actor’s son failed to get bail. It was on October 28 that the Bombay High Court granted him bail. He walked out of jail on October 30, just days ahead of his father’s birthday.
Apart form Aryan Khan, Mohak is the the other person whose name has been left out from the NCB chargesheet. However, Vikrant, Ishmeet, Arbaaz, Aryan & Gomit will face the law as the agency has mentioned their names in chargesheet for possession of narcotics.
As per the NCB chargesheet, complaint against 6 persons has not been filed due to ‘lack of evidence’. The NCB submitted the chargsheet in the NCB special court.
The NCB chargesheet says that Aryan had not been found in possession of any drugs.
“Based on an input NCB Mumbai on 02.10.2021, intercepted Vikrant, Ishmeet, Arbaaz, Aryan and Gomit at International Port Terminal, MbPT and Nupur, Mohak and Munmun at the Cordelia Cruise. All the accused persons were found in possession of narcotics except Aryan and Mohak,” agency said in a press release.
Aryan was arrested from Goa bound cruise
The NCB team got a tip-off about a planned rave party on the proposed Mumbai to Goa cruise. The NCB sleuths clandestinely boarded the ship and apprehended many youth from the cruise, who were allegedly either caught in possession of narcotics or were consuming the drug. Among the most noted person was SRK’s son Aryan Khan, however, no drugs were found in his possession. His friend Arbaaz Merchant however had concealed the narcotics in his shoes.
