CM Channi says ‘don’t let UP, Bihar ke bhaiya enter Punjab’; Priyanka Gandhi claps and laughs (VIDEO)

UP-Bihar Comment: Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi made the remark in the presence of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

New Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister Charnjit Channi on Wednesday said that that he will not allow “people from UP and Bihar to come and have a good life in the state.

He also said, ‘don’t let UP, Bihar ke bhaiya enter Punjab’, in the presence of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

In the video, which is now doing rounds on social media, Priyanka Gandhi can be seen laughing, and clapping while Channi made this statement.

Soon after this,  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Malviya slammed Congress for allegedly insulting the people belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during the election campaign in Punjab.

Not only BJP, but Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal also slammed Channi’s reported remark. He said, “It is very shameful. We strongly condemn comments aimed at any individual or any particular community. Priyanka Gandhi also belongs to UP, so she is also a bhaiya.”

Meanwhile, Punjab Assembly polls is scheduled to be held on February 20 and the counting of votes will take place on March 10. However, Charanjit Singh Channi is the Congress’s official chief ministerial candidate in the Punjab election.
