CM Kejriwal’s love for ‘Ram Rajya’, announces free pilgrimage for senior citizens

CM Kejriwal”s announcement of free pilgrimage to elderly citizens to Ayodhya comes after AAP government presented a Rs 69,000-crore ‘deshbhakti’ budget in the Assembly.

New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday announced free pilgrimage for cities elderly to the Ram Temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, when it is ready.

The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is expected to be completed in 36-40 months.

Declaring himself as ‘Hanuman bhakt’ again, CM Kejriwal said that Delhi government follows 10 principles of Ram Rajya or the kingdom of Lord Ram.

Kejriwal said, “I’m a devotee of Hanuman who was a devotee of Lord Ram. So, I am a devotee of both. Lord Ram was the king of Ayodhya. It is said that everything was good during his rule. There was no sorrow. Every facility was there and it was called Ram Rajya, which is a concept.”

Kejriwal”s announcement about the pilgrimage came a day after his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government presented a Rs 69,000-crore ‘deshbhakti’ budget, under which installation of 500 flag masts will be put up in the city.

‘Delhi govt following 10 principles of Ram Rajya’

Kejriwal further elaborated on the list of 10 principles which Delhi government holds onto while giving an fair and effective governance.

No one should sleep on an empty stomach in Delhi, CM Kejriwal said.

“Every child, irrespective of the social status, should get quality education and every person should get the best possible medical treatment,” he said.

Delhi government has been providing free drinking water up to 20,000 litres to each household, Kejriwal said.

He also said, “We give free electricity up to 200 units to everyone. Delhi is the only city in the world where people get round-the-clock free power supply.”

The AAP government has taken a number of steps to generate employment, provide housing facilities to the poor and ensure women safety, the chief minister said.

The work done in the education sector in Delhi in the last six years is being seen as a “revolution”, he asserted.

Kejriwal also appealed to all residents of Delhi to participate in the COVID-19 vaccination drive and said the members of the Delhi Assembly should go to hospitals, stand in queue and take vaccine just like common people.

The Delhi government has also declared free vaccination for Delhiites at all government facilities in the future phase of inoculation drive.
