CM Rupani approves construction of checkdam on Kalubhar river, sanctions Rs 2.53 lakh crore

The construction of this check dam will benefit the water level in the 160-hectare area of land in the villages of Amrala-Vallabhipur area which are facing water scarcity and where the ground water level has gone deep.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today approved construction of check dam on Kalubhar River in Hadamtala village of Umarala at a cost of Rs 2 crore 53 lakh.

The construction of this check dam will benefit the water level in the 160-hectare area of land in the villages of Amrala-Vallabhipur area which are facing water scarcity and where the ground water level has gone deep.

The construction of this check dam will give further impetus to the resolution made by the Chief Minister to make Gujarat a water surplus state.

These check dam at Hadmatala village will store 11.20 MCFT of water and with adequate irrigation facilities, farmers of Hadmatala, Wangradha and Tarpal villages will be able to harvest in all the three seasons.

No existing check dams, roads, farms or private property will be submerged in the construction of this check dam.
