CM Rupani lays foundation of 5 water projects, to enable pure drinking water to 3.82 lakh people

Rupani expressed that Gujarat has succeeded in providing pure drinking water. Benefits of tap water connection, toilet, gas-electricity connection, Jan-Dhan account have been given to every household in the state. The government is committed for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minster Mr. Vijay Rupani today laid foundation stone of 5 water supply improvement scheme worth Rs. 145.14 crores providing clean drinking water to 124 villages and 404 faliya of Valsad district.

Mr. Rupani expressed that Gujarat has succeeded in providing pure drinking water. Benefits of tap water connection, toilet, gas-electricity connection, Jan-Dhan account have been given to every household in the state. The government is committed for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

30% of Gujarat receives 70% rainfall and 70% receives 30% rainfall. Valsad is known as Cherrapunji of Gujarat. various projects-schemes of water supply department remain essential for water storage and distribution in the district. People do not have to drink alkaline ground water as they get pure water.

In past, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi announced the Rs. 550 crore water supply scheme at Dahod, under which all the works have come to completion. In Valsad district, the government has sanctioned water supply schemes worth Rs 1,500 crores.

The Chief Minister further said that in the 2019 election manifesto, the Congress has decided to give free market to farmers and sale of vegetables and fruits to APMC.

Mr. Rupani added that the government has purchased crop produce worth Rs. 18,000 crore from farmers at support prices in the last four years. 1100 villages of the state are benefiting under Kisan Suryodaya Yojana for providing electricity to farmers during the day.

The CM said that we have been successful in preventing the transmission of Corona through joint efforts. We have completed developmental works of Rs. 20,000 crores during Covid pandemic.

Water Supply Minister Mr. Kunvarji Bavaliya said that around 6 lakh people from 114 villages will be benefited through this water supply improvement schemes. Valsad will also get pure drinking water in the near future.
