CM Rupani reiterates ‘100% tap water in villages by 2022’, dedicates Rs 47 cr water project in Dang district

Elaborating on the role of realizing 100% tap water in all the villages of the state before 2022, Mr. Rupani said that state government has also made special provision to supply pure water to the Vanbandhu in the remote area.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Monday laid the foundation stone of water supply scheme of worth Rs 47 crores and gifted developmental works of Rs 75 crores to the people of Dang District.

CM showed his commitment to make Gujarat free from water-borne disease and hand pump by delivering pure drinking water to all the houses including the remote areas in the state.

In this regard CM said that, state government has taken into hands a mission to provide pure tap water connections to all houses through water supply schemes with a strong and effective planning. State Government has carried out timely planning at a cost of crores of rupees to solve the problem of water in the State.

CM said that just as Gujarat has been made riot-free, our government is moving towards making railway crossing-free and hand pump-free Gujarat. Gujarat’s water supply department has taken an intensive step to ensure that every household gets tap water under “Nal se Jal” Yojana.

Elaborating on the role of realizing 100% tap water in all the villages of the state before 2022, Mr. Rupani said that state government has also made special provision to supply pure water to the Vanbandhu in the remote area.

With the decision to provide irrigation water in the tribal areas of 54 talukas of 14 districts of the state, a total of 4 lakh 24 thousand 507 irrigation facilities have been completed in four years through various 1641 works of small / large irrigation schemes.

State Government has also sanctioned works for 10 different uplift irrigation schemes worth Rs. 3796 crore for irrigation facilities in hilly and inaccessible and severely affected areas. CM said that with the completion of these projects under progress at various levels, irrigation facilities would be available in 590 villages of 21 talukas of Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Surat, Narmada, Bharuch and Tapi districts.

During past Government rule, people were also not provided with basic facilities. Giving details of ongoing development works in the state, Chief Minister said that various new projects and schemes are being launched in the state in the presence of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and water supply works have been undertaken in the state. We are making full efforts and are committed to provide tap water connection to all the houses by 2020.

We have also given in-principle approval of works Rs. 8 crores to the Department of Science and Technology to set up mobile tower connectivity to address the problem of network connectivity in hilly areas of Dang.

Addressing the program Minister for Tribal, Forest, Women and Child Welfare Mr. Ganpatsinh Vasava gave an brief idea of the sensitive and transparent governance of Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. He welcomed the state and central government’s approach of gifting various development works to the tribal community.

Taking note of various welfare schemes of the state government, Minister-in-Charge of Dang District and Minister of State for Forests Mr. Ramanlal Patkar delivered his occasional speech. MP of Valsad-Dang Dr. KC Patel in his occasional address gave an idea of the sensitive state and central government’s approach and gave an idea of welfare schemes.

On the occasion Mr. Rupani released a book “Matrishaktikaran Kalp” and distributed the baby kits to pregnant ladies. The kit will be distributed to all the beneficiaries of institutional delivery in Dang district in phases by the implementing agency.

Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani digitally inaugurated various schemes of Water Supply Department. He also unveiled development projects of different departments.
