Yogi becomes longest serving BJP CM in Uttar Pradesh, week-long celebrations to mark 4 years

New Delhi: As Yogi Adityanath completes 4 years in office on Friday, he will become the longest serving Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief minister in the state.

4 years of Yogi government is marked by several developmental programs, some of which include Mission Rozgar, digitisation of land records and women empowerment programs like Mission Shakti & BC Sakhi initiative. These programs are only first of sorts but also have found strong connect with the masses.

The ODOP, with assistance from the MSME sector, has emerged as the biggest driving force in the state, stretching its wings from traditional arts and crafts to modern-day start-ups.

Week-long celebrations: Film & Song to be unveiled

To mark four years of Yogi government, several programs have been planned to celebrate the achievements and propagate the ongoing schemes.

Week long celebrations are set to begin from March 19. Each day will be dedicated to a separate segment of society like women, traders, farmers etc.

A film encapsulating works of state govt over past 4 years and a song & book will also be released by Yogi Adityanath on March 19. An exhibition to showcase the distinct achievements of state govt will also be organised.

Yogi’s roller-coaster ride as UP CM

Yogi Adityanath’s journey as UP Chief Minister has been nothing less than a roller-coaster ride. When Yogi Adityanath was named Chief Minister in March 2017, political pundits had vehemently opposed the idea of elevating a ‘religious figure’ to CM office.

Yogi Adityanath has worked round the clock to prove his detractors and critics wrong. In 4 years of governance, his work has not only silenced his critics but he is being credited by many for turning crisis into opportunity, as was evident in UP’s fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

Yogi Adityanath’s first challenge came from his own constituency Gorakhpur in August 2017 when more than 60 children died due to disruption in oxygen supply at the BRD Medical College.

Yogi Adityanath’s biggest challenge that finally turned out also to be his biggest achievement was the Corona pandemic. In a state that was thoroughly deprived of medical infrastructure, the Chief Minister relentlessly worked to build up a medical management system that could deal with the pandemic.

Construction work of 297 kms long Bundelkhand Expressway is also going on a war footing. Air connectivity is also being increased. The international airport in Kushinagar is almost ready. The process of construction of international airports at Jewar and Ayodhya is in progress. Five international airports will be available in the state as soon as they are completed.

At present, 8 airports are operational in Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Hindon, and Bareilly. As many as 43 other airports and an airstrip are being developed.
