Congress’ Manpreet S Badal resigns from the primary membership of the party; joins BJP

Manpreet S Badal joins Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) today after resigning from Congress.

New Delhi: Manpreet S Badal resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party today. He joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Union minister Piyush Goyal in Delhi.

His resignation comes a day after Congress Deepika Pushkar Nath, Jammu and Kashmir Congress spokesperson resigned from the party on Tuesday.

Addressing the letter to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Manpreet Badal wrote that a coterie of men in Delhi is running affairs in Punjab.

Soon after his resignation, BJP’s Shehzad Jai Hind took a jib at Congres leader Rahl Gandhi and asked him to first bring Congress together.

Manpreet S Badal has earlier served as the finance minister in the previous Congress government.
