Covid-19: PM Modi holds meet to review India’s vaccination strategy

“Held a meeting to review India’s vaccination strategy and the way forward. Important issues related to progress of vaccine development, regulatory approvals and procurement were discussed,” PM Modi tweeted.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired a meet to review India’s vaccination strategy. Issues like progress of vaccine development, regulatory approvals and procurement were discussed at the high-level meet.

With Coronavirus once again spreading like wildfire in Western countries, it poses fresh threat to the mankind. Back home, it has hit Delhi hard while affecting other cities.

Several vaccines are in final stage of trial. Few vaccines are expected by early 2021.

Today’s high-level meet was aimed at devising post Vaccine development strategy. Modi govt has already formed a task force for administering vaccine to a large population by mid 2021, while keeping health workers and frontline warriors on priority.

“Reviewed various issues like prioritisation of population groups, reaching out to HCWs, cold-chain Infrastructure augmentation, adding vaccinators and tech platform for vaccine roll-out,” PM Modi tweeted.
