Covid-19: Recovery rate improves to 83.84%, total recoveries cross 54 lakh

Covid-19: A total of 75,628 recoveries were registered in last 24 hours, pushing the recovery rate to 83.84%.

New Delhi: Recovery from Covid-19 continues to be on the upswing, with total recovered cases crossing 54 lakh mark. This alone accounts for 21% of global recovered cases while the share in total Corona cases stands at 18.6%

India has maintained its position as one of the lowest case fatality rate. While the global case fatality rate stands at 2.97% as on date, the comparative figure for India is 1.56%.

The deaths per million is also one of the lowest in Inida. The global average stands at 130 deaths per million population while in India, it is 73 deaths per million population.

A total of 75,628 recoveries were registered in last 24 hours, pushing the recovery rate to 83.84%.

About 74.36% of recovered cases are from 10 States and UTs, with Maharashtra accounting for highest numbers, followed by Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Nearly 77% of the active cases are in 10 States and UTs.

For the 12th successive day, India has kept the active cases below 10-lakh mark. The number of active cases today is 9.44 lakh.

About 1,069 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours, with 10 States and UTs accounting for 84.1% of fatalities in past 24 hours.
