Cricketer Harbhajan Singh wanted to ‘convert to Islam’, claims Inzamam-ul-Haq in viral VIDEO

“Harbhajan wanted to follow Maulvi’s words but seeing our condition, he would stop,” Inzamam further says in the video, leaving the audience break into laughter.

New Delhi: Harbhajan Singh aka Turbanator, who led the Team India’s spinning squad in early 2000s and was also part of World Cup winning team in 2011, wanted to ‘convert to Islam’. The shocking & starling claims have been made by former Pakistani cricketer Inzamam-Ul-Haq.

In a video clip posted by Pakistan Untold Twitter handle, Inzamam-Ul-Haq is heard telling the audience that Harbhajan harboured a desire to ‘switch religion’ and would have almost crossed over.
Inzamam is heard saying, We had a room where all cricketers would come for prayers. We used to invite Irrfan Pathan and other Indian players too. However, along with Harbhajan also used to come & patiently used to hear Maulvi and was impressed with his speech. Many a times, he told me that he thought of believe Maulana’s words.”

Inzamam says that he also told Harbhajan that if wants to believe in Maulana’s words & wants to ‘convert’, what is restraining him from doing so.

“Harbhajan wanted to follow Maulvi’s words but seeing our condition, he would stop,” Inzamam further says in the video, leaving the audience break into laughter.

The video is being circulated widely on social media and has the potential of creating trouble for Harbhajan Singh, as he is now the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP in Rajya Sabha.

Though, Harbhajan has his share of controversies in the past, this claim of ‘converting to Islam’ will give enough fodder to political opponents to slam him as well as the party. Already on backfoot over CBI probe, the party may find it difficult to counter startling charges against its lawmaker.
