Cruise rave party: The tip-off, follow-up & NCB raid… How it all happened

Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Sunday in connection with the raid at a party at a cruise off the Mumbai coast.

New Delhi : A Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) team, led by celebrated IRS Officer Sameer Wankhede, raided a rave party on Cordelia cruise liner’s Empress ship on Saturday, September 2. Illegal drugs such as cocaine, hashish and MDMA  were seized during the raid.

On Sunday, NCB said that children of prominent Bollywood actors are being investigated in connection with a raid. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, with 7 others was detained during the raid.

“During the raid, over 20 officials of the Mumbai NCB boarded the ship posing as customers. There were 1,800 people on the ship but after checking all were asked to go except the eight, including Aryan Khan,” an official said.

The official further said that NCB was keeping a close eye on the events conducted on the ship for past 15-20 days. The raid was based on a tip-off that a drug rave party scheduled on the cruise. The party was supposed to continue for 3 days (October 2 – 3), on the Goa-bound ship.

“The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is likely to summon officials of the cruise company and the event management firm in connection with the seizure of banned drugs onboard the ship”, an official told.

“NCB may question officials of Delhi-based event management company Namas’cray registered as Caneplus Trading Private Limited and officials of the cruise company, Cordelia Cruises”.

“These three additional directors were tasked with selling tickets, preparing a guest list, inviting celebrities and helping with the musical events onboard the ship”, he added.

However, the cruise company in a statement said that it had nothing to do with this incident on Sunday.
