Days after G20, PM Modi garners 76% approval ratings; tops most popular global leader list: Survey

Over the years, PM Modi has maintained his numero uno position in the Survey, year after year, US President Joe Biden’s approval ratings is said to have fluctuated between 35% to 35%.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again topped the charts of most popular leaders across the world, with his approval ratings continuing to exceed over 75% in the latest survey by Morning Consult.

The Morning Consult in its Global Leader Approval Survey found that Prime Minister occupied the top spot with 76% approval ratings while his closest rivals remained at distant second & third with 64% & 61% approval.

Over the years, PM Modi has maintained his numero uno position in the Survey, year after year while US President Joe Biden’s approval ratings is said to have fluctuated between 35% to 35%.

PM Modi’s fresh positioning at the top slot comes, days after successful culmination of the two-day G20 Summit on Sept 9-10 in the national capital. Notably, the world media also went gaga over seamless & spectacular arrangements in Delhi.

Another high point of the high-level Summit was – Modi government managing to attain 100% consensus on New Delhi Declaration.

How world leaders fare in Global Leaders list

Morning Consult, the company delivering an insight into leader’s popularity in their own land, found only 3 leaders with approval ratings above 60%. PM Modi leads the flock with 76% ratings while his closest rivals Switzerland President Alain Berset and Meixco President Andres Manue Obrador occupy 2nd & 3rd spot with 64% & 61% popularity ratings.

Many other popular global leaders like US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron and others also feature in the Morning Consult Survey charts but their standing remains on lower side of the table. Joe Biden’s approval ratings was recorded at 40%, Rishi Sunak fared at 27% while French President had even lower approval ratings of 24%.

The latest approval ratings by Morning Consult is based on data collected between Sept 6 – Sept 12. The survey’s approval ratings are calculatd by taking into account seven-day moving average of adult results in each country.
